Everyone has a bad day but not everyone has a bad life

Kepapa-kedanaan boleh membuat manusia menjadi lebih manusia atau menjadi lebih binatang.
Keterasingan boleh membuat manusia menjadi lebih dekat atau jauh menyimpang.

orang cakap aku emo, aku marah

aku tak harap ada orang wish me ayat kat atas, so i dedicate this to myself. ada air hangat kat pipi.

Husnuzon

Husnuzon maksudnya bersangka baik manakala the opposite of it adalah Suuzon.

The Girl Who Silenced The World for 5 Minutes

Full text of Severn Suzuki's speech to UN Earth Summit in Rio, Brazil in 1992.

Hello, I’m Severn Suzuki speaking for E.C.O. – The Environmental Children’s Organisation.

We are a group of twelve and thirteen-year-olds from Canada trying to make a difference:
Vanessa Suttie, Morgan Geisler, Michelle Quigg and me. We raised all the money ourselves to come six thousand miles to tell you adults you must change your ways. Coming here today, I have no hidden agenda. I am fighting for my future.

Losing my future is not like losing an election or a few points on the stock market. I am here to speak for all generations to come.

I am here to speak on behalf of the starving children around the world whose cries go unheard.

I am here to speak for the countless animals dying across this planet because they have nowhere left to go. We cannot afford to be not heard.

I am afraid to go out in the sun now because of the holes in the ozone. I am afraid to breathe the air because I don’t know what chemicals are in it.

I used to go fishing in Vancouver with my dad until just a few years ago we found the fish full of cancers. And now we hear about animals and plants going extinct every day — vanishing forever.

In my life, I have dreamt of seeing the great herds of wild animals, jungles and rainforests full of birds and butterflies, but now I wonder if they will even exist for my children to see.

Did you have to worry about these little things when you were my age?

All this is happening before our eyes and yet we act as if we have all the time we want and all the solutions. I’m only a child and I don’t have all the solutions, but I want you to realise, neither do you!

• You don’t know how to fix the holes in our ozone layer.
• You don’t know how to bring salmon back up a dead stream.
• You don’t know how to bring back an animal now extinct.
• And you can’t bring back forests that once grew where there is now desert.

If you don’t know how to fix it, please stop breaking it!

Here, you may be delegates of your governments, business people, organisers, reporters or politicians – but really you are mothers and fathers, brothers and sister, aunts and uncles – and all of you are somebody’s child.

I’m only a child yet I know we are all part of a family, five billion strong, in fact, 30 million species strong and we all share the same air, water and soil — borders and governments will never change that.

I’m only a child yet I know we are all in this together and should act as one single world towards one single goal.

In my anger, I am not blind, and in my fear, I am not afraid to tell the world how I feel.

In my country, we make so much waste, we buy and throw away, buy and throw away, and yet northern countries will not share with the needy. Even when we have more than enough, we are afraid to lose some of our wealth, afraid to share.

In Canada, we live the privileged life, with plenty of food, water and shelter — we have watches, bicycles, computers and television sets.

Two days ago here in Brazil, we were shocked when we spent some time with some children living on the streets. And this is what one child told us: “I wish I was rich and if I were, I would give all the street children food, clothes, medicine, shelter and love and affection.”

If a child on the street who has nothing, is willing to share, why are we who have everything still so greedy?

I can’t stop thinking that these children are my age, that it makes a tremendous difference where you are born, that I could be one of those children living in the Favellas of Rio; I could be a child starving in Somalia; a victim of war in the Middle East or a beggar in India.

I’m only a child yet I know if all the money spent on war was spent on ending poverty and finding environmental answers, what a wonderful place this earth would be!

At school, even in kindergarten, you teach us to behave in the world. You teach us:
• not to fight with others,
• to work things out,
• to respect others,
• to clean up our mess,
• not to hurt other creatures
• to share – not be greedy.

Then why do you go out and do the things you tell us not to do?

Do not forget why you’re attending these conferences, who you’re doing this for — we are your own children. You are deciding what kind of world we will grow up in. Parents should be able to comfort their children by saying “everything’s going to be alright” , “we’re doing the best we can” and “it’s not the end of the world”.

But I don’t think you can say that to us anymore. Are we even on your list of priorities? My father always says “You are what you do, not what you say.”

Well, what you do makes me cry at night. You grown ups say you love us. I challenge you, please make your actions reflect your words. Thank you for listening.

Daily Delimma

Hate being alone.
Negative energy attracted to me more when I'm alone.
Battling depression (suspected) is not easy.
I need to be among people to prevent the relapse.

When people hate Monday, I need Monday.
Be among people I feel alive.
I can make the best decision
I'm at my best when at work.

At home I'm dead.
Hard to accomplish even a tiny assignment.

There are times when I don't think I could do this alone,
I pray to Allah, send me someone, a savior who would help me.
But no one coming yet.
I guess this is a battle I need to fight alone.

Love,
A.

Life ain't taste like honey

Eh..asal tetiba I berNajwa Latif ni...

Berbalik kepada persoalan diminda, otak kata jangan hati pula kata ya. Hati kata cuti-cuti Malaysia la dulu.

Beauty in Randomness V

Bila jatuh,
bangkit itu perlu.

Bila salah,
memperbetulkan kesalahan itu perlu.

Memperbetulkan bukan membetulkan.
Serupa tapi tak sama.

Ya Allah aku hambaMu yang teramat lemah.
Yang selalu lalai dan leka.
Ampuni aku, jangan berpaling dari ku.

Amin.

Love,
A.

I came to realize what our real job is.
I know it's late but I hope it's not too late.

Beauty in Randomness III

Somewhere that I belong,
is not just a song.
It is a song sang by my heart.

It's not a statement but a question.
A song about a place where I belong.
Somewhere that my heart called home.

A place where I make peace with myself.
It may not looks like a home
but it is a home nonetheless.

When I can sleep peacefully,
I'm home.

I'm home.

Beauty in Randomness II

Pertama,
mekarnya bunga-bunga.

Kedua,
mekarnya bunga-bunga,
menarik si rama-rama.

Ketiga,
mekarnya bunga-bunga,
menarik si rama-rama,
maka bermulanya musim bunga.

Beauty in Randomness I

  1. Phat Phet ikan keli sedap sangat, sangat sedap.
  2. Pasal benda kena kacau ni kita ambik yang positifnya, as in teguran suruh kita tidur awal jangan nak berjaga lewat  sangat. (Dua kali fikir mesti dia gelakkan aku semalam).
  3. Songlap adalah antara filem yang mengujakan saya.
  4. Tak tengok Ombak Rindu I tak rasa apa-apa.
  5. Esok beli tiket balik.
  6. OK line cam bangang. Adakah anda wujud untuk menguji kesabaran saya?
  7. Masa paling best for thinking is time basuh baju, hand wash, and travel dalam train.

I am sorry.

How do I tell you I'm sorry -
With a gesture, a look, a touch?
How is it I never realized
I hurt you so very much?

I do not ask forgiveness,
A comfort I'll never deserve.
I merely want to let you know,
But I cannot find the nerve.

To finally confront you, face-to-face,
To look you in the eye,
To face your wrath, your apathy -
Too terrified to try.

You called me selfish, I turned away,
I festered and I fled;
Cutting and wounding and lashing out,
Just to see if you bled.

Betraying and deceiving you,
I surely had no right
To snatch away such a precious gem;
A dark thief in the night.

3 months and forever passed
To bring us to this day,
When I present these simple words
I never thought to say.

The time has come, it's long past due,
To put aside my fear;
Would this confession torture you,
Or have you longed to hear?

To hear those forbidden words,
To vanquish all the pain,
To understand my dearest wish:
To know you once again.

The months aged me remarkably,
Though they have not made me wise;
I do know I erred irrevocably -
For that I apologize.

Be thankful...

I am Thankful :

FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.

FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS SHE IS AT HOME,
NOT ON THE STREETS.

FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM EMPLOYED.

FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.

FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.

FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE

FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.

FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS
WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH..

FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION.

FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM WARM.

FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH
WHO SINGS OFF KEY BECAUSE IT MEANS
I CAN HEAR.

FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.

FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN
CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.

FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE

Anis Mogjani - Shake The Dust

Poem that I like...

"Shake the Dust" by Anis Mojgani

This is for the fat girls.
This is for the little brothers.
This is for the school-yard wimps,
this is for the childhood bullies who tormented them.
This is for the former prom queen,
this is for the milk-crate ball players.
This is for the nighttime cereal eaters and for the retired,
elderly Wal-Mart store front door greeters.

Shake the dust.

This is for the benches and the people sitting upon them,
for the bus drivers driving a million broken hymns,
for the men who have to hold down three jobs simply to hold up their children,
for the nighttime schoolers and the midnight bike riders who are trying to fly. Shake the dust.
This is for the two-year-olds who cannot be understood because they speak half-English and half-god.

Shake the dust.

For the boys with the beautiful sister, shake the dust.
For the girls with the brothers who are going crazy,
for those gym class wall flowers and the twelve-year-olds afraid of taking public showers,
for the kid who's always late to class because he forgets the combination to his lockers,
for the girl who loves somebody else.

Shake the dust.

This is for the hard men,
the hard men who want to love but know that is won't come.

For the ones who are forgotten,
the ones the amendments do not stand up for.

For the ones who are told to speak only when you are spoken to and then are never spoken to.
Speak every time you stand so you do not forget yourself.

Do not let a moment go by that doesn't remind you that your heart beats 900 times every single day and that there are enough gallons of blood to make you an ocean.

Do not settle for letting these waves settle and the dust to collect in your veins.

This is for the celibate pedophile who keeps on struggling,
for the poetry teachers and for the people who go on vacations alone.

For the sweat that drips off of Mick Jaggers' singing lips and for the shaking skirt on Tina Turner's shaking hips,
for the heavens and for the hells through which Tina has lived.

This is for the tired and for the dreamers and for those families who'll never be like the Cleavers with perfectly made dinners and sons like Wally and the Beaver.

This is for the biggots,
this is for the sexists,
this is for the killers.
This is for the big house, pen-sentenced cats becoming redeemers
and for the springtime that always shows up after the winters.
This is for everyone of you.

Make sure that by the time fisherman returns you are gone.
Because just like the days,
I burn both ends and every time I write,
every time I open my eyes I am cutting out a part of myself to give to you.

So shake the dust and take me with you when you do for none of this has never been for me.

All that pushes and pulls,
pushes
and pulls for you.

So grab this world by its clothespins and shake it out again
and again and jump on top and take it for a spin
and when you hop off shake it again for this is yours.

Make my words worth it,
make this not just another poem that I write,
not just another poem like just another night that sits heavy above us all.

Walk into it,
breathe it in,
let is crash through the halls of your arms at the millions of years of millions of poets coursing like blood pumping
and pushing making you live,
shaking the dust.

So when the world knocks at your front door,
clutch the knob and open on up,
running forward into its widespread greeting arms with your hands before you,
fingertips trembling though they may be.
